Micah6:8

Act Justly. Love Mercy. Walk Humbly.

Micah6:8 is a group of diverse residents who love where they live in South Holland, Illinois. We recognize the unique opportunity we have in our country to ensure that we don’t dismiss or forget the past, but embrace a shared history that is filled with progress and pain. We are filled with hope for our future. Our name, Micah6:8 is from the biblical passage Micah6:8 where we are encouraged and challenged:

“He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.

And what does the Lord require of you?

To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”

our purpose

We have come together to serve others with three purposes:

  • To educate one another about the past - the pain experienced and progress made.

  • To listen with hope for where and how we might seek the flourishing of our community.

  • To join together in meaningful and restorative work.
